Keep in touch with Gabriel

Marion hijacks Gabi’s blog…

Marion: I arrived in Buenos Aires a few days before Gabriel and Monica and a few days after Lucio. It has been so much fun and in the first 7 days I took in 10 milongas!! Lucio was my chaperone for a few of them because he speaks spanish and knows the city. After 7 days I still don’t have my bearings and direction. I keep getting turned around. Somehow they don’t print the maps the way north americans do…with north pointing up, duhh.

In the second week I started to see Monica and Gabriel. I have attached a few pictures. We attended Eduardo’s birthday party and I danced with ‘the king’. It was nerve wracking…!

Lucio and I took in an outdoor Milonga at La Glorietta. It was great! A really nice mix of locals and tourists. Next time I will bring mosquito repellant though.

I also took in the tango show at Tango Portneo. It was fabulous. Well worth the money! It was recommended by Adriana Parillo and she was also very helpful on showing me apartments.

OK. Last but not least…My birthday celebration…We were at Konex on the 23rd…Wow, what a night. I took in a fantastic lesson with Fernando Galera and then danced until 3AM. There was live music, Lucio brought out the champagne at 12:30 when it was my birthday and we all had such a wonderful time. On the 24th when it was actually my birthday I received many calls on skyp from my family and friends and even some beautiful flowers from my dear friend Pino from Vancouver.

Wow! A birthday to remember.

Lots of love and well wishes for everyone in Vancouver.
